2 Oakland Officers Disciplined for Occupy Misconduct - The Bay Citizen

It is laudable that the Police Oversight Agency in Oakland and the Department are acting in accordance to their charter and affecting positive and professional change through discipline . The covering of a badge WAS a violation of the law. One can argue that the covering of the faces by some members of the Occupy Oakland movement is the same. Some hid their identities while breaking , in some instances, the law and while deploying disruptive and destructive strategies. In the end , Police officers are held to a higher standard as they DO carry fire arms and have the Law on their side. When you have the power to curtail someone's liberty and use sanctioned incremental use of force, you must be held to a higher bar and YOU MUST abide by all laws. About Me

My photo
I want to continue to add my voice and have a say in future development plans, affecting positive change on all issues, having a voice in local politics and representing communities by having a seat at the table and making a difference in the decision making process. I believe it is not only the right, but also the responsibility of interested and capable citizens to become engaged in local government policy by advising elected officials on important community-related issues. Serving on a Board or Commission is an excellent way to make a personal and tangible contribution.
